Company History

Secured Cargo Logistics, Inc. (SCL) founders started in the Air Freight pickup & delivery industry in 1981.

We realized that in order to provide a supply chain solution to our customer’s, we needed to expand into other facets of cargo transportation.  SCL was founded in March of 2000, as a privately held Freight Forwarder that specialized in Air Freight services to 48 states.

When the demand for service grew to encompass a larger geographical area, the company responded quickly in September of 2005 when SCL became affiliated as an agent for Landstar of Rockford, IL / Jacksonville, FL. 

Landstar is one of the largest truckload carriers.

Working together, Landstar and its network of more than 1,000 independent sales agents, 8,000 business capacity owners, 23,000 contract carriers, and warehouse capacity owners draw on a variety of equipment.  Together we utilize the most innovative technology to ensure every customer a safe, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain solution.

All Landstar operating companies are certified to ISO 9001: 2000 quality management systems standards. 

Since the start of the millennium, SCL continues to diversify its services under its own logistics authority to include: Intermodal-rail, Ocean and Surface Expedite becoming a single source outlet for many of its customer’s transportation departments.
